Sen. Mitch McConnell announced Wednesday he will step down as Republican Senate leader in November, ending the longest leadership tenure in Senate history. CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killion reports some of McConnell's colleagues weren't expecting the news.
President Biden and former President Trump will hold dueling events on the southern border Thursday. Mr. Biden will be meeting with Border Patrol agents and local officials in Brownsville, Texas, while Trump is expected to speak in Eagle Pass, just a little over 300 miles away.
